Joy joined Conference Innovators in 1999 as an event manager and spent five years in this role. The registration processing department manages all of the registrations for the myriad of conferences managed by the CI team. This includes working with hotels throughout New Zealand to ensure that conference delegates have access to accommodation at or close to the conference venue.
Joy is supported by Emma Redfern and a part-time casual group who prepare the personal packs for delegates to collect at conference.
Prior to joining Conference Innovators Joy spent 10 years as administration manager for Canterbury Tourism during a strong growth period for tourism in Canterbury.
Joy's role requires her to be 'flexible' and 'accommodating' of both her Conference Innovator clients and their delegates and her own clients for whom she manages registration and exhibition.
To maintain her 'flexibility' she works out at a pilates fitness studio and is a great proponent of this style of exercise for health and well-being, and she walks most days. Joy also spends a lot of quality time in her garden. The garden is very often used for outdoor entertaining as she and her partner love to share it with family and friends. 2012 will see a new garden being created as their new home is built.
A trim latte is her daily lunchtime treat!
