Welcome

On behalf of ANZAP, I would like to extend a very warm invitation to all our members to attend the 16th ANZAP Scientific Meeting in Hobart in 2013.   The meeting will take place at the Grand Chancellor Hotel from March 6 – 9.  In keeping with our long held tradition, the meeting will provide a high level of clinical and research based presentations, interspersed with a tightly packed social program.

The theme of the meeting is “Inflammation – the hot topic”.  We are very fortunate to have, as our keynote speaker, Professor Tord Berghlund.  Presently, Dr. Berglundh is Professor at the Department of Periodontology, The Sahlgrenska Academy at University of Gothenburg and the Head of the Periodontal Research Laboratory.  Dr. Berglundh has produced more than 160 scientific publications within the field of dental implants, periodontology, inflammation, immunology, genetics, tissue integration and regeneration. The studies on implants have included the use of different implant systems, compromised sites and diagnosis/treatment of peri-implantitis lesions. He is widely known to us here in Australia, both for the quality of his publications, but more importantly, for the excellent lectures he presents. 

Hobart is a great city to hold a conference of this size – it is easy to get to, has a wide range of excellent restaurants and cultural activities and the “ green”  wilderness and beaches that makes Tasmania world renowned is all just a short drive away. 
So please set aside the dates now, and plan to join us in Hobart.
