Early Registration and Welcome Reception
Date: Friday 30 April
Time: 1700 - 1930 Venue: Pre Function Foyer, Christchurch Convention Centre Cost: This function is included for ANZCA and FPM full, weekend. trainee delegates and new Fellows. Additional tickets can be purchased at the time of registration for NZD$50 incl. GST.
The registration desk will open on Friday afternoon at 1600. Once you have registered, you will have the opportunity to enjoy canapes and drinks at the official Welcome Reception from 1700.

Date: Saturday 1 May
Time: 1215 - 1315 Venue: Town Hall Auditorium After collecting lunch, members of the official stage party and all Fellows for presentation are asked to attend the rehearsal at the Town Hall Auditorium. The rehearsal will last approximately 45 minutes.

Date: Saturday 1 May Delegates are invited to attend the annual college ceremony for the formal presentation of new ANZCA and FPM Fellows to Dr Leona Wilson ANZCA President and Dr Penny Briscoe FPM Dean. The oration will be delivered by Robbie Deans, a true icon of Christchurch and the Canterbury region. Robbie had a very successful career playing rugby at both regional and national levels. His real success has been as a coach for Canterbury, the Crusaders and as an Assistant Coach for the All Blacks. In 2008 Robbie left Canterbury to become head coach for the Australian Wallabies. He is, therefore, able to bring a unique trans-Tasman perspective to this year's oration. |

In line with the increasingly high profile of the College Ceremony, this year's cocktail reception has been expanded into a significant festive event. Beneath the soaring glass roof of the magnificent Crowne Plaza Atrium, you will find an abundance of great food, wonderful company and outstanding New Zealand wine. Come and catch up with old friends and celebrate with the new Fellows.

The 2010 Organising Committee would like to invite all registrars registered for the Meeting to a complimentary lunch. This is your chance to meet the Great and the Good of the Australasian and International Anaesthetic and Pain Medicine community. Interspersed amongst your tables will be high profile luminaries prepared to answer any and all burning questions.

After the Healthcare Industry Cocktail Reception, stroll 10 minutes up the road to join your colleagues for dinner at one of the highly recommended restaurants along "The Strip" in Oxford Terrace. Reservations for dinner are not necessary, the restaurants have been forewarned and are anticipating an influx of hungry anaesthetists.

Court Theatre - The Female of the Species

Meet at the Tram Stop on Victoria Square and enjoy a glass of bubbly as the historic tram takes you on a scenic tour of Central Christchurch to the renowned Court Theatre. The Court Theatre is New Zealand’s largest and most active professional theatre company, offering entertainment of the highest quality. Showing in May 2010 will be “The Female of the Species”. The Female of the Species Joanna Murray-Smith’s latest play is a crackling comedy that is part satire and part outrageous farce - controversial feminist writer Margot Mason has a couple of small problems. The follow up to her best seller The Cerebral Vagina is overdue and she has a severe case of writers block. Oh, and a deranged fan has broken into her house and is holding her hostage.. |
Jamming Sessions and Open-Mic Night

Aging anaesthetic rockers in garage bands around Australasia have requested this event. It's time to give in to that latent desire to be an "idol" and see if you've got what it takes to give up your day job. This will be a laid-back jamming sessions for the musically minded - enthusiasm required, talent optional! Watch or join in and enjoy a drink and a yarn, while plumbing the depths of anaesthetic musical endeavour.
Supported by the local Irish band "The Corks", and coordinated by Dr Brent "B.B King" Boon. No booking required but please indicate interest and any instrument requests via the online registration process. |

Located in our premier events venue, the Westpac Arena, the finale to our social program promises to be unique and exciting. Anticipate a night of outstanding food, wine and dramatic entertainment in the company of colleagues and friends. Prepare to be astounded and entranced, while enjoying a full sit-down meal of the best New Zealand cuisine.
Later in the evening, we are proud to present the "Golden Kiwis". Members of this band are true legends of New Zealand music - led by Kim Willoughby (When the Cats Away) and featuring musicians from Hello Sailor, Th' Dudes, The Narcs, Coup D'Etat..they promise a truely memorable celebration with all your favourites from Split Enz, Exponents, Crowded House, Dragon, Dave Dobyn...Dance the night away, or sit and enjoy the memories.. |
