My name is Anne Wroe. I am a mum, wife, friend, daughter, sister, aunt, amateur Photoshop enthusiast and Registered Nurse. I have been an RN for some 21 years. I am 46, and 10 years ago I was diagnosed with Remitting Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis, and this rocked my world. I soon realised I had to learn to balance my priorities to maintain optimum mental and physical health both at home and in the workplace. Work-life-illness balance is about adjusting your day-to-day activities to achieve a sense of balance between work life and personal life, whilst managing the stressors of a chronic illness. I came to see I was "time poor", constantly rushing to juggle different commitments. I have learned and continue to learn about a number of key things: knowing, understanding and embracing my values, balancing and having time for relationships, employing time management skills, setting boundaries especially with myself, enjoying the work I do, consider my finances, learning about my health and how to manage this, accepting I need down time, and learning to manage stress.
