Call for Abstracts

 

The Call for Abstracts is now closed.


The organisers of the conference sought abstracts for oral and poster presentations. All aspects of genetics, breeding and deployment were welcomed. However, the organisers encouraged abstracts that relate to the main topics of the conference.


Topics

Research topics for the conference are:

  • Breeding productive and resilient forests
  • Finding the synergies in genotype, environment and silviculture
  • Genomics and phenomics


Prizes

There are two prizes available for submitting authors:

  • The Student Poster Prize 
  • Best Paper - Voluntary Presentations

Please note to be eligible for the student poster prize, students would have to be enrolled full time or part time for a post-graduate degree (Masters or PhD) to be eligible for a prize. 

 

Information for Oral Presenters

  • The submitting author will receive all correspondence concerning the abstract. The submitting author is responsible for informing the other authors of the status of the abstract(s).
  • All oral presentations will be allocated a strict 15 minute presentation slot (unless otherwise advised), including presentation (10 mins), questions (4 mins), and handover (1 min)
  • All accepted abstracts will be published in the Conference Handbook or App, a copy of which will be available to all delegates attending the Conference.
  • You are encouraged to test your presentation in the speaker preparation room and ensure it has been loaded onto the system. Often embedded objects such as video clips in PowerPoint presentations can cause problems so these should be tested before the session or perhaps removed
  • The system supports the most recent version of 'Office' and 'Keynote'
  • Should you wish to use your own laptop or if your presentation requires any special equipment, please advise the Conference Manager.
  • An audio visual technician will be available in each presentation room (both before and during each presentation) to assist with any questions
  • The following equipment is included in each presentation room:
    • Laptop
    • Data projector 
    • Screen
    • Wifi
    • Lapel microphone and or radio microphone

 

Poster Sessions

The guidelines for posters are noted below:

  • The submitting author will receive all correspondence concerning the abstract. 
  • The submitting author is responsible for informing the other authors of the status of the abstract(s).
  • All accepted abstracts will be published in the Conference Handbook or App, a copy of which will be available to all delegates attending the Conference.
  • Posters will be displayed on velcro compatible 2.3 metre high poster boards.
  • Posters should be either A0 portrait or A1 landscape.  Measurements noted below:
  • A0 portrait (841mm wide x 1189 deep) or 33.11 inches wide x 46.81 inches deep)
  • A1 landscape (841mm wide x 594mm deep) or 33.11 inches wide x 23.39 inches deep)
  • IMPORTANT: Posters wider than these dimensions will not fit on the poster boards and cannot be displayed.A0 landscape is TOO WIDE
  • Authors are encouraged to put up their posters at the conference.  Poster board numbers will be advised by the first week of March 2016.
