Book the 22nd-24th July 2011 in your diary for the 48th Annual NZCA Conference & AGM. The Energy Events Centre is a unique conference venue offering unsurpassed facilities for delegates and presenters alike.

The event could easily be our biggest conference to date and will no doubt be New Zealand's premier early childhood professional development experience in 2011.

You can read about the venue here

Conference presentations & audio recordings

Copies of keynote presentations and workshop presentations are now available on our website. Each keynote speaker has their own page, which is where you will find their keynote presentation.

We will be making audio recordings (*.mp3) of some of the keynote sessions available for delegates to download. Keep your eye on your inbox for notification about when they'll be available.

Conference photography

Many of our delegates asked about the on-site photographer.

We'll be uploading a selection of photos to our website and Facebook page very soon. Delegates are welcome to download these photos.

We are looking at ways to make the full suite of conference photos available for delegates, or for delegates to order prints. We'll make an announcement soon.

Korero sessions and network meetings

Notes from the korero sessions and the Maori and Pasifika network meetings are now available for download on our website.

We've developed a Facebook group for Maori ECE discussion on Facebook, join the group today and keep the korero going.

Members' forum

Thank you to everyone who attended the members' forum.

Your participation in the activities was much appreciated and we received great feedback, ideas and suggestions for our membership services and advocacy going forward. If you ever have a suggestion, question or comment, send an email to members@nzca.ac.nz - we look forward to hearing from you.

Children in childcare deserve 100%

There was a lot of energy and korero about the funding cuts announced in the 2010 budget. This is a significant issue for members and services across the country.

We have made our position clear on this issue. We want to secure commitment to 100% qualified teachers in early childhood and funding subsidies to support them. We think our parent communities are the key to influencing government on this issue. As a sector we need to mobilise our parent communities to tell government they are not happy with a dumbed down early childhood sector. Children deserve qualified teachers.

Our members will soon be in receipt of advocacy packs to help them mobilise parents.
