The Conference will build on the success of previous rural health conferences, focusing on the issues faced by Rural GP’s and health professionals.

The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP) has provisionally approved for up to 16 hours (= 16 credits) CME for General Practice Education Programme Stage 2 (formerly AVE) and Maintenance of Professional Standards (MOPS) purposes.

Transport Session on Saturday 13 March, ”Trip Wired”

The transfer of patients is an inevitable part of rural hospital practice. The outcome for patients could be improved through better resourcing of rural hospitals and education for staff, improved communication with transport services and with base hospital specialists, and involvement in the development of regionalised transport protocols.  A panel will discuss the challenges, opportunities and issues surrounding rural transport.
