There is a difference between the ASPA and SPANZA registration fees

This year we have the good fortune to enjoy a meeting between paediatric anaesthetists from a much wider variation in culture and in practice environments than we have previously had at a SPANZA meeting. This difference is highlighted by the different approach to meeting organisation and funding. You will see that there is a substantial difference in the registration fee formembers of ASPA compared with SPANZA. The reasons for this are threefold.

Most ASPA members do not have the benefit of salary packages with financial assistance for attending meetings that many SPANZA members have.

We welcome many colleagues from Asia and South East Asia who have travelled much longer distances with correspondingly larger travel costs.  SPANZA endeavours to generate a profit from each of its meetings and this is an important part of funding its activities, especially the annual research grant and the sponsored meeting delegate. The ASPA does not run in this way and the ASPA executive has agreed that any profit from this meeting should go to SPANZA.

The result is that the SPANZA members pay what they usually do and the ASPA members pay a little more than their usual meeting registration.

Eclipsing these details is the desire by the two Executive Committees to produce a truly combined meeting in a way that will provide the opportunity for as many paediatric anaesthetic colleagues from as wide a region as possible to gather and share experiences and cultivate the friendly network for which paediatric anaesthesia is renowned.

Early Bird registration must be accompanied by FULL payment. Full registration fees include Friday, Saturday and Sunday meeting sessions, morning/afternoon tea, lunch, welcome cocktail function, meeting satchel and contents. 

Dinner costs are not included in the registration fee.

All prices are quoted in New Zealand Dollars and are includsive of GST.

Online registration (or for amendments) has now closed.  To register prior to the event please print off the Registration Form, complete and fax it to 03 379 0460 AND bring it with you to the Meeting.

Cancellations
Should you need to cancel your registration, you may reassign your registration to another person. Please notify the Meeting Manager in writing. If you are unable to arrange a replacement, a refund less a $150 cancellation fee will be made provided notification is received by Friday 30 July 2010. After that date, refunds will be at the discretion of the Organising Committee. Refunds will not be granted on failure of visa application. Substitute delegates will be accepted.

Goods and Services Tax
GST payable will be calculated at the rate on the day fees and tickets are invoiced. The current GST rate is 12.5%.

The SPANZA/ ASPA 2010, Regional Organising Committee and the Meeting Organisers are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused as a result of such alteration. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the SPANZA/ ASPA 2010, Regional Organising Committee and the Meeting Organisers do not accept responsibility for loss of monies caused by delays.

Participants are advised to take out personal travel insurance and to extend their policy to cover personal possessions. The Meeting does not cover individuals against cancellations of bookings or theft or damage to belongings.
