Taking inspiration from those mountains that characterise a spectacular landscape, this conference will celebrate all that's remarkable in the local government sector.
Taking advantage of the theme conference attendees will hear from remarkable New Zealanders, high achieves in their specialist fields, who will offer inspiration and motivation.
Leading the speakers line up will be world cup winning rugby coach Sir Graham Henry along with political commentator Fran O'Sullivan and Andrew Hamilton, chief executive of business growth centre The ICEHOUSE.
"Conference is always a fantastic opportunity for networking but the 2012 conference will also be a chance to recognise all that is remarkable in local government and celebrate our achievements," said LGNZ President Lawrence Yule.
Along with keynote speakers the conference will also offer parallel sessions led by LGNZ's team of policy experts. The sessions will look at some of the issues facing the local government sector across social, environment, governance and transport and infrastructure areas.
"I always find conference to be an opportunity to hear new ideas, discuss the hot topics in the sector and take a fresh look at what works in different communities around New Zealand," said Mr Yule.
