Paula is currently the Chair of Waikato Regional Council. She has been an elected member of Regional Council for 15 years.
During this time she has undertaken a broad range of duties related to environmental management issues, previously heading the council's policy and strategy committee, and sitting on the land and water quality sub-committee.
While a Waikato regional councillor she has also completed the Kelloggs rural leadership programme and become a fully trained Hearings Commissioner and is currently on the LGNZ Environmental Policy Advisory Group and LGNZ Conference Committees.
A strong supporter of a healthy regional economy and a healthy environment, she wants to see Waikato's natural resources managed sustainably to achieve both these goals.

A mother of two girls, Paula spent more than 15 years on numerous community boards and committees, including chair of Knighton Normal School Board of Trustees, and Hamilton Girls' High.
When not working, Paula enjoys basketball, dancing, time spent with friends, and in the great outdoors.
