Lawrence Yule is the National Member of Parliament for Tukituki, elected in 2017. He is the party spokesperson for horticulture.
He was previously Mayor of Hastings District for 16 years, President of Local Government New Zealand for 9 years and Chair of the Commonwealth Local Government Forum for 6 years.
Lawrence has led and developed a number of large regional projects in Hawke's Bay including the refurbishing of the Hawke's Bay Opera House, building of the Pettigrew Green Arena and the Hawke's Bay Regional Sports Park.
His community interests include being a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary and a Trustee of the Wharariki Trust which assists the people of Flaxmere. Lawrence has special interests in climate change, environment issues, trade, infrastructure and local government.
He is married to Kerryn and has 4 adult children. He has lived in Hawke's Bay all his life apart from time away for education.
