"Let's Get Connected"
Thank you for attending the New Zealand Rural General Practice Network's 2013 conference in Rotorua. With more than 300 attendees the event was well supported and, as always, was a wonderful chance for the rural health community to connect. Many thanks also to the sponsors and exhibitors who supported the conference.
This year's host city, Rotorua and the wonderful Energy Events Centre, proved to be exceptional locations for rural health's annual showcase event held over five days (March 13-17).
The conference's theme, 'Lets' Get Connected' focussed on IT, the Rural Broadband Initiative and connecting with various groups in rural communities, and also hosted the fledgling Rural Health Alliance Aotearoa New Zealand and the New Zealand Rural Hospital Network, which held their own forums and meetings.
The conference also hosted the second annual Pat Farry Rural Health Education Trust fundraiser – the Pat Farry Trust Fun Run and Walk around part of the lakefront - which attracted about 180 entrants, more than double that of last year. Congratulations to all those who participated.
Once again thank you for supporting the 2013 Network conference and we look forward to seeing you in 2014.
