The New Zealand Society of Actuaries held their 17th Biennial Conference at the new Marlborough Convention Centre from Sunday 21st to Wednesday 24th November 2010. This was the first time that the conference has been held in the Marlborough region and delegates enjoyed the various attractions in this region, if not the sunshine.
The theme for the conference was Sound Navigation, Uncharted Waters.
This reflects that New Zealand is indeed moving into uncharted waters as we are driven by the strong currents of fiscal and regulative change with the Prudential Regulation of Insurers well advanced, the establishment of a Financial Markets Authority and the emergence of Enterprise Risk Management as a significant discipline for actuaries to embrace.
Papers and presentations are now available on this website. Audio recordings of concurrent sessions and plenary sessions will be available shortly.
