The afternoon of Tuesday 22nd November is set aside to give you time to explore some of the many highlights that the Bay of Plenty has to offer. Why not broaden your horizons and try your hand at White Water Rafting, Blokarting & Horse Riding; or perhaps a more sedate walk around Mount Mauao and a latte at one of the many delightful cafes is more your style. Whatever you enjoy there is sure to be an activity to suit!


Blokarts & Drift Karts

Activity Time: 1.5hrs (plus 30 min each way travel time)
Departs Trinity Wharf at 1.00pm, returns at 3.30pm
Cost: $55.00 pp
What to wear: Closed toed shoes, if wet waterproof jacket
Limited to 30 pax

  • Its a fun, fast and compact wind-powered vehicle, designed and constructed right here in Papamoa.
  • Blokart landsailing is very easy to operate, if you can move your arms, you can sail a Blokart!

    Freewheeling Cycle Tour

    Departs Trinity Wharf at 1.30pm, returns by 5pm

    Come Freewheeling with us on a gentle, mostly off road cycling tour exploring the magnificent Tauranga Harbour. Find out what a Maori Pa is, what the name Tauranga means and why the area is called the Bay of Plenty! Learn about the local Maori iwi, the legend of Mauao (Mt Maunganui), and hear the stories only the locals know as we visit sites of significance like the "Elms" Mission House and the Mission cemetery.

    The Harbourside cycle is a great way to discover the rich history and scenic beauty of this stunning part of New Zealand. Our guides are all qualified and our bikes are safe and easy to ride.

    Food Tour - Coastal Cuisine Bites of the Bay

    Join us for a scenic foodie adventure of the Bay of Plenty! We visit local producers & food heroes and hear why they love the bountiful Bay of Plenty and have chosen to make it their home. This tour includes specialty food shops, "hole in the wall" food premises and out of the way foodie venues. There will be at least 5 or 6 food tastings and these will vary depending on what is in season on the day of your tour. You might taste local baked goods, smoked seafoods, cheeses, avocado and olive oils, berries, gourmet frozen desserts, Manuka honey, iconic NZ pies......  just to name a few! There will be some great scenery and interesting stories. So why not have a BITE with us on this one-of-a-kind tasting experience "off the eaten track"!


    White Water Rafting 

    Activity Time: 5 hrs total
    Departs Trinity Wharf at 1.00pm, returning by 6.00pm

    What to bring: Swimsuit and a towel, a wetsuit/fleece, splash jacket and footwear will be provided for you

    With possibly the world's highest commercially rafted waterfall, 6/7 metres {21feet}, the Kaituna is a white water enthusiast's dream come true. Flowing through an extremely steep and narrow canyon, in 50 minutes you will paddle 14 awesome drops, including two waterfalls and some great rapids.

    Kaituna Cascades was the original company to explore and open up the Kaituna River, a long standing goal achieved and one they are very proud of.

    They were the first company to name the now famous rapids and give people the opportunity to paddle rafts and Kayaks (Topos) down this awesome river. For each person that achieves this adrenalin rush it is a personal triumph and a once in a lifetime experience. 

    Kaituna Cascades continues to be the best, is always fun and most importantly strives to be the safest company on the river.


    Horse Riding

    Activity Time: 1.5hr ride time, 2.5 hrs total including transport
    Departs Trinity Wharf at 1.00pm, returning approx 4.30pm

    At 1100ft above sea level, Oropi Bushlands scenic Horse Treks are simply quite unique!

    Within their amazing property there are just about unlimited trekking routes to follow. Once mounted they will design a route suited to individual riders levels of experience so the journey is one of enjoyment. They aim for every rider to leave feeling like they have challenged themselves and done something a little out of their comfort zone and enjoying the experience along the way.

    In a nation which boasts more golf courses per capita than any other country in the World, the Western Bay of Plenty and Tauranga in particular boast some of New Zealands most established and finest courses.

    Self Discovery Afternoon

    Shuttle departs Trinity Wharf at 1.00pm, returns by 5.00pm

    What to bring: This depends on what you choose to do
    Inclusions: Complimentary shuttle between Trinity Wharf and Pilot Bay, Mount Maunganui

    The self discovery afternoon is all about discovering Tauranga and the Mount at your own pace. You may wish to stroll the shops of Tauragna, or head over to the Mount to walk around, or up the might Mount Mauao. Try your hand at surfing, stand up paddle boarding, wind surfing, take a cruise on the Kewpie Cruise boat or find some treasures in the Mall shopping precient. What ever you do us up to you.

    A shuttle will depart from Trinity Wharf to Pilot Bay, Mount Maunganui at 1.00pm and depart Pilot Bay at 4.30pm, returning to the conference hotels by 5.00pm
