Haere rā from the NZSO 2010 Conference, and many thanks to the sponsors, speakers, and delegates who made it possible.  The conference provided a stock-take of New Zealand's oncology research capacity.  It revealed our motivation to collaborate across disciplines and as a nation on important questions of cancer biology and treatment.   It has helped the brand "NZ Oncology Research" cohere more visibly at a national level.  This will be to the good of our patients, but also to the country, as we move towards a "knowledge economy".  The New Zealand Society for Oncology welcomes contact from anyone who has an interest in our meeting's theme, aspiration, and outcomes.
