On behalf of the SSA 2017 Organising Committee I am delighted to invite you to join us for the 28th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Stroke Society of Australasia to be held from 23 to 25 August 2017 in beautiful Queenstown, New Zealand.
Our conference theme "Path to Recovery" signals our commitment to achieving excellence in stroke care along an often long journey experienced by people with stroke requiring effective prevention, state of the art acute therapies, and evidenced based, quality driven rehabilitation and community care.
The Meeting is a three-day programme with plenary sessions, scientific abstracts presentations, expert updates and topical debates pertaining to cutting edge research, the latest advances, and effective knowledge translation in the areas of neuro-intervention and-imaging, stroke rehabilitation, recovery, and long term care, optimising systems of care, and quality assurance including stroke registries represent additional topics.
Other features of the Meeting will include stunning, panoramic views of the Southern Alps directly from the conference venue, the Millennium and Copthorne Hotels, a gala dinner in the Skyline Restaurant (accessed via a gondola ride), and additional organised activities to allow delegates an opportunity to enjoy Queenstown – one of the top international tourist destinations often referred to as 'adventure capital,' with superb skiing, jetboating, tramping, bungy-jumping, golfing, and wine tasting.
We look forward to welcoming you in Queenstown in August 2017!
Dr Anna Ranta
Convenor, SSA ASM 2017
