Wednesday 11th July
AUCKLAND TO PAIHIA IN THE BAY OF ISLANDS
0830 hours meet your driver / guide and travel to Paihia in the Bay of Islands.  Highlights today will include a visit to The Kauri Museum at Matakohe and a tech visit to the Marsden Point LVL manufacturing plant to give delegates an opportunity to view this world-scale operation, housed in an LVL building.  For those not participating in the tech visit then activities in the area include a visit the Marsden Point Oil Refinery information centre and or a walk on the Ruakaka Beach.

Group dinner this evening.

Overnight: Kingsgate Hotel Autolodge Paihia.
Meal included today is dinner.

Thursday 12th July
PAIHIA TO OMAPERE
0900 hours meet your driver /guide and travel to Omapere.  Highlights today will include a guided tour of Kemp House and Stone Store buildings at Kerikeri and a hike through the Wairere Boulders.  Independent picnic lunch while hiking at the Wairere Boulders. Early evening group dinner followed by an evening visit to Tane Mahuta – 1930 hours to 2100 hours.

Overnight: Copthorne Hotel, Omapere.
Meals included today are breakfast and dinner.

Friday 13th July
OMAPERE TO PAIHIA
0930 hours meet your driver / guide and travel to Paihia.  Highlight en-route will be a flora and fauna hike from Haruru Falls to Waitangi.  This afternoon travel by ferry to Russell.  Highlights in Russell will include a 1 hour tour of the town followed by a guided tour of Pompalier House.Time for an independent drink and a chance to mix and mingle with locals at the historic Duke of Marlborough before returning to Paihia by ferry.

Free evening.

Overnight: Kingsgate Hotel Autolodge Paihia.
Meal included today is breakfast. 

Saturday 14th July
PAIHIA
This is your free day to relax or indulge in some activities.  Your driver / guide will be able to make suggestions and bookings for you.  Guests to pay directly for activities.

Suggested activities:

  1. Day trip to and from Cape Reinga including Ninety Mile Beach.
  2. Excitor Hole in the Rock boat trip.
  3. Golf at Waitangi Golf Course.
  4. Spa treatments.
  5. Sailing on a wooden “tall ship” R Tucker Thompson.
  6. Deep sea fishing.

Group dinner this evening.

Overnight: Kingsgate Hotel Autolodge Paihia.
Meals included today are breakfast and dinner. 

Sunday 15th July
PAIHIA TO AUCKLAND
0830 hours meet your driver / guide and travel to Auckland.  Highlight today will be a tech visit to the Warkworth Treehouse Restaurant. 1300 hours approximate arrival time in Auckland.

Friday 20th July
AUCKLAND TO ROTORUA
0800 hours meet your driver / guide and travel to Rotorua.  A highlight today will include meeting Wayne Ross at his workshop/studio.   Wayne is a wood worker who makes works of art from swamp kauri.   Other highlights will include a visit to Lockwood Homes headquarters in Rotorua and a Scion tech visit.  For those not participating in the tech visit then they may like to participate in a guided walking tour at the lake (Lake Rotorua) front and gardens or they may like to have free time for shopping etc. 

This evening attend a Maori concert and hangi at Te Puia.

Overnight: Millennium Hotel, Rotorua.
Meal included today is hangi dinner.

Saturday 21st July
ROTORUA
0830 hours meet your driver / guide and travel to Wai-O-Tapu Geothermal Wonderland for a 2 hour guided walking tour of the main and back tracks.  This afternoon participate in a guided tour of Kiwi Encounter where if you are lucky you may see a Kiwi bird hatching from its shell.  Also enjoy a sheep show at the Agrodome.This evening ride the gondola to the Skyline Restaurant for dinner.  Optional extra luging for those who may be interested.  Guests to pay direct for luging.

Overnight: Millennium Hotel, Rotorua.
Meals included today are breakfast and dinner.

Sunday 22nd July
ROTORUA
This is your free day to relax or indulge in some activities.  Your driver / guide will be able to make suggestions and bookings for you.  Guests to pay directly for activities.

Suggested activities:

  1. Spa treatments or just soak in the hot mineral water at Polynesian Spa.
  2. Golf at Rotorua Golf Course.
  3. Trout fishing.  Trout die of old age in New Zealand!
  4. Mountain biking.
  5. Buried Village.
  6. Helicopter flight to White Island including landing on island and short hike to edge of crater.
  7. Zorbing.
  8. Off Road NZ.

Overnight: Millennium Hotel, Rotorua.
Meal included today is breakfast.

Monday 23rd July
ROTORUA TO AUCKLAND
0800 hours meet your driver / guide and travel to Auckland.  Highlights today will include Huka Falls, free time in Taupo town centre, tour of Waitomo Glow Worm Caves and presentation on new Waitomo Glow Worm Caves visitor centre building.   For those guests who are interested in Black Water Rafting then they will participate in the rafting tour while the rest of the guests are touring the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves and the new visitor centre.  Guests who participate in Black Water Rafting to pay directly for this activity.  Pre-bookings for Black Water Rafting are essential. 1800 hours approximate arrival time in Auckland.
Meal included today is breakfast.

1015 hours tour meet your fellow travellers in the Commodore Hotel lobby. 1030 hours meet your driver / guide in the Commodore Hotel lobby.  Highlights today will include a visit to Canterbury University to review the 2010/2011 earthquakes, tour through test halls and STIC office followed by a tour of Christchurch city viewing examples of earthquake damage and restoration.1700 hours approximate arrival time back at hotel.

Group dinner this evening.

Saturday 21st July
CHRISTCHURCH
This is your free day to relax or indulge in some activities.  Your guide will be able to make suggestions and bookings for you.  Guests to pay directly for activities.

  1. International Antarctic Centre.
  2. Golf at Russley Golf Course.
  3. Trout fishing.  Trout die of old age in New Zealand!
  4. Snow skiing or snowboarding – weather dependent.
  5. Tranz Alpine train journey.
  6. Whale watching at Kaikoura – weather dependent.
  7. Wine tasting tour.
  8. Hanmer Springs.

Sunday 22nd July
CHRISTCHURCH
0900 hours meet your driver / guide and travel to Akaroa.  Highlights today will include a stop at Little River café and art gallery, free time in the historic town of Akaroa (Akaroa Museum and The Giants House are both well worth visiting) and boat cruise in search of the rare Hector Dolphin along with other marine life.1630 hours approximate arrival time back at hotel.

Group dinner at Willowbank Wildlife Reserve and Restaurant.

Overnight: Commodore Hotel, Christchurch.
Meals included today are breakfast and dinner.

Monday 23rd July
DEPART CHRISTCHURCH
Tour concludes after breakfast.  Please consult with your guide with regards to suggestions for further touring, airport transfers etc.Guests are on their own arrangements for further touring or connecting with international flights.
