Kia Ora - Welcome to the Safety 2012 World Conference website

Registrations are open and we invite all members of the safety and injury prevention sector from around the world to join us in October to debate, discuss and share information and expertise.  This is your chance to learn, network with other world changers, develop new skills, experience training opportunities and take back some great initiatives to use in your own country and community.

The registration brochure has all the information on how to register and other key information about the conference, including comprehensive programme, travel and accommodation information.

About the Conference

Safety 2012 is the 11th World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion. The conference is held biennially under the auspices of the World Health Organization. It brings together the world's leading injury prevention and safety researchers, practitioners and advocates, to build our knowledge and strengthen the fields of injury prevention and safety promotion worldwide.

Safety 2012 is organised by the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC), Safe Communities Foundation New Zealand (SCFNZ), and the University of Otago's Injury Prevention Research Unit (IPRU). There are also numerous partners and colleagues in New Zealand, Australia, and internationally who are contributing to the planning and success of the conference.

The theme of Safety 2012 is Connecting pathways for a vibrant and safer future. This is your opportunity to make international connections with others who share similar goals and interests.

Added to the 2012 conference is the unique character of Wellington (known as "the coolest little capital in the world") and some of New Zealand's finest hospitality, including an unforgettable evening at Te Papa, New Zealand's renowned national museum.

Come and be part of the Safety 2012 experience - it will be well worth the trip!
